Celery juice recipe and healthy digestion
This is my favorite recipe when it comes to boosting the health of my digestive system, shedding a few extra pounds, or rehydrating my body after an intense workout.
Starting my morning with a cup of celery juice gives me the energy I need to tackle whatever the day has in store for me.
Celery juice plays an important role in my overall health and well-being by ridding the body of toxins, boosting my digestive system, and strengthening my gallbladder.
A healthy gallbladder is essential for a healthy digestive system and proper breakdown of fats from food.
I also drink a cup of celery juice after an intense workout to replenish my energy levels and rehydrate the body.
My experience with celery juice began when I read the book Medical Medium by Anthony Williams. He says that just 500 ml of fresh celery juice every morning on an empty stomach can change your health and digestion in just one week.
This green delicacy is rich in nutrients and has unique health benefits.
The health benefits of celery juice have been extensively studied by experts over the years.
Celery is known as one of the cheapest and most readily available vegetables and contains a variety of minerals and vitamins that can provide energy and prevent disease in everyday life.
Health benefits of celery juice.
Although there is not much science behind all the claimed health benefits of celery juice, I can say from personal experience that celery juice helps my digestive system, boosts my energy level, and helps with loss weight.
Improves digestion and reduces bloating.
When I decided to incorporate celery juice into my healthy lifestyle, I was suffering from gastritis and digestive issues because my gallbladder was so sluggish. Being bloated was normal for me.
After just a few days of drinking celery juice, I noticed a high level of energy, my digestion was better, and my gallbladder was doing better.
Poor digestion and intestinal problems can lead to constipation, bloating, and even hormonal imbalance, depression, and anxiety.
Celery juice contains chemical compounds known to support stomach lining health, reduce gastritis, and improve digestive health.
In addition, the high water content of celery juice improves digestion through hydration.
Celery juice may reduce inflammation and boost hydration.
Celery has anti-inflammatory properties because it is rich in antioxidants called phytonutrients that can reduce inflammation.

Celery is naturally rich in natural sodium and antioxidants. As you may know, antioxidants are chemical compounds that protect cells from harmful free radicals that are responsible for aging and increase the risk of disease.
A cup of celery juice is rich in micronutrients that are important for good health: Potassium, folic acid, vitamin K, and C, to name a few.
It helps in weight loss.
Celery juice is a natural diuretic and helps flush toxins from your body and reduce bloating.
I have found that celery juice increases my energy level and I can go longer without eating because my body is getting the amount of nutrients it needs to function properly.
It is a tonic after a workout.
I always drink a glass of celery juice after my Pilates workout. I have noticed a boost in energy. This is because it rehydrates the body.
Cravings are your body’s way of telling you that your body is lacking certain nutrients.
Example: Cravings for chocolate could be a sign that your body needs more magnesium. When you are stressed, your magnesium levels are low, leading to fatigue and insomnia.
Increasing your magnesium levels can help balance hormones and improve thyroid function.
On the one hand, celery juice boosts your digestive system, improving your digestion and absorption of nutrients. On the other hand, celery juice itself provides your body with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. As a result, your cravings will disappear as your body gets the nutrients it needs to function properly.
When is the best time to drink the celery juice?
I drink celery juice on an empty stomach, but you can also drink it 2 hours after a meal. However, for better results, I recommend drinking it on an empty stomach.
Here is a simple but nutritious recipe for celery juice.
Making celery juice is quite simple.
All you need are celery sticks, a blender, and a fine sieve.
What are the ingredients for celery juice?
Ingredients for 1 cup (250 ml) of juice:
3 large celery sticks, chopped up
A little water.
What equipment do you need?
A high-speed blender and a fine sieve.
Note: Buy organic celery if possible, because celery is on the Dirty Dozen list for being sprayed with pesticides.
As described in Anthony Williams’ book, try to use only 100% celery for the juice. The taste is fresh and you will get used to it quickly.
How to prepare this recipe for celery juice?
Preparation time: 30 minutes
Makes 1 serving of 250 ml
Note: If I can’t find organic celery, I make a special combination of 1 tablespoon baking soda, 1 tablespoon vinegar, and water that just covers the celery. I stir until the baking soda is dissolved. I let the celery sticks sit in this water combination for 20-30 minutes. This optional step allows me to remove some of the pesticides from the celery. I then wash it again under running water.
Step 1: Wash the celery sticks under running water
Step 2: Cut the celery sticks into small pieces (about 1 inch)
Step 3: Blend
Put the celery pieces into the blender container
Add a little water, just enough to get the blender going, and blend for 30 seconds.
Step 4: Strain the celery juice
Place a fine mesh strainer over a small bowl.
Pour in the celery juice.
Press the mixture with the back of a teaspoon to extract as much juice as possible.
Step 5: Pour the juice into your mug and serve.
Avoid celery juice if you are allergic to celery or if you are pregnant.
Consult a healthcare professional before including celery juice in your morning routine if you are taking medications for high blood pressure, anticoagulants, and diuretics.
You may also consult your doctor if you have digestive problems such as irritable bowel syndrome or a sensitive digestive system.
Bottom line: consuming a moderate amount of celery juice on a regular basis is not harmful in itself. However, you should consider it a hydrating and nutritious addition to a healthy diet, not a meal replacement.
If we prepare the celery juice with a high-speed blender, some of the fiber of celery, so useful for digestion, is preserved.
